We’re an independent specialist college for learners aged between 16 and 25 with special educational needs and/or autism.
At Heart of Birmingham Vocational College (HBVC) you will gain experience and new skills to help you become more independent and to prepare you for employment. You will learn through realistic, practical, hands-on activities that will increase your confidence and equip you for the future you want.

Star of the Week!
This week’s 'Star of the Week' goes to learner SM. SM has gone above and beyond by using their initiative to complete a variety of gardening tasks independently. SM has also begun mentoring other students and is willing to help whenever possible. SM received positive feedback from the staff they work with at the Botanical Gardens. Well done SM! Keep up the good work!

Meet our Employability Star of the Week Student Ellie!
She did a fantastic job at Tesco this week; she listened to instructions, worked quickly and efficiently, used her initiative and worked hard to complete her work. She had a positive attitude to all her tasks, including put backs, sorting clothing and replenishing stock. Well done Ellie!
Success at Cafe on the Green!
Cafe on the Green was buzzing yesterday with lots of customers from the local community and HBVC, it really is a great place where students are learning lots of everyday tasks. Yesterday was a record day and students worked very hard, if you haven't visited the cafe on a Wednesday yet, please come down - we'd love to see you!
